Ethos Group
Ethos Club
Ethos is a lunch time club held on a Thursday from 12- 12.25 for children in Year 1 upwards. Ethos club focuses on developing children’s knowledge and understanding of the school’s Christian values including the Fruit of the Spirit and the rights of the child in fun and engaging ways. Activities include crafts, discussions and games.
As part of being a Rights Respecting School we are working on Ethos being a child led club which is facilitated by Miss. Porter. There is a small committee of children who meet to plan activities once a month focusing on a Christian value, Fruit of the Spirit or article from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of a Child. Children from Year 1 upwards are then invited over the following three weeks to take part in these activities. Ethos committee are responsible for explaining and running their activity.
Currently the committee are:
Cassian Y2
Elsie and Emily Y4
Orla, Poppy, Lucy Max and Maxwell Y6
The committee and Miss Porter are working to raise awareness and interest in Ethos Club with the hope that there will be representatives from each year group on the committee.
Ethos group also lead worship once a week for the whole school. Themes for worship are often topical events which are related to our British values, christian values and rights respecting articles.
