Year 6 2021 - 2022
At the heart of everything is a personalised approach to each unique individual as part of our Christian Community. The strong family ethos ensures that all children and staff feel valued, respected and grow in self-confidence. Enthusiastic and caring staff with high expectations, demonstrate care of the whole child. Through God’s guidance we encourage each and every child to let their light shine.

Welcome to Year 6!
Miss Hickson and Mrs Walker are your teachers in Year 6.
We welcome you to your final year at Bunbury Aldersey CE Primary School. Whilst we have lots of fun and enjoy our learning, we will also expect you to work hard and try your best. We expect high standards of work and presentation but are always available should you need to ask about anything.
From The Galapagos to Antarctica!
“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.” Charles Darwin
Our topic for this term is based on the whole school book of ‘Where My Wellies Take Me’ by Michael and Clare Morpurgo. In Year 6, we are going to focus on the journeys of Charles Darwin and Sir Earnest Shackleton to the Galapagos Islands and Antarctica respectively and the animals they encounter on their travels.
Our autumn term topic web below provides an overview of what we will be learning across all areas of the curriculum.
We ask that you wear your PE kit to school on your PE days: Wednesdays and Thursdays.
You can find some helpful information below and your homework is on the Homework Autumn A tab at the top of this page.
I am looking forward to making your final year at Bunbury an exciting and unforgettable one!
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to me!
