Y3 Beeston Castle Trip – Tuesday 6th June 2023

As part of our local history study, year 3 will visiting Beeston Castle on Tuesday 6th June 2023.  In the morning, we will experience the prehistoric history of Beeston with an immersive learning experience based in a recreated Bronze Age roundhouse.  We will meet Bronze Age experts and learn about ancient technology in an authentic setting.

After lunch, we will take a walk up to the top of the castle and put our geography fieldwork skills to the test.  We will be leaving school at 9.45am and returning in the afternoon at approximately 2.45pm.

The children will be outside whatever the weather so will need waterproof coat/trousers and/or sun hat and sun cream, as appropriate.  Please ensure that sun cream is applied in the morning before school too.

Children are to wear their school PE polo shirt and hoodies with comfortable/practical bottoms e.g., jogging bottoms or leggings – no jeans.  All children must also wear trainers with good grips or walking boots.

Please could you ensure that your child brings a packed lunch, a snack and a water bottle in a backpack (clearly named), with no glass bottles or anything containing nuts.

The cost of the trip, including travel is £7.90.  Please consent and make payment via SchoolMoney by Monday 5th June.  Should you require financial assistance with the cost of the trip, please speak in confidence with myself or Mrs Badger.

If you have any questions, please do let me know.

Thank you,

Mrs Smith
