Cape Verde Day – Friday 3rd February
As a Rights Respecting Silver school and with the increasing importance of global learning, it is vital that our children are provided with opportunities to learn about life in a different culture. As previously explained, Bunbury has worked to establish an exciting link with Castelao Primary School in Cape Verde (located off the west coast of Africa). We have since received a video of Castelao Primary School and have also sent a video tour of Bunbury School to them to provide an insight into the similarities and differences between our two schools.
On Friday 3rd February, we will be having a Cape Verde Day, where the children will learn about the culture. We will also have a visitor who will be leading sessions for all the classes and will be teaching the children traditional dance and music. There will also be art, Geography and language activities in classes throughout the day. Due to the activities taking place, there will be no PE session on this day, therefore can all classes please come to school in their uniform.
We look forward to providing our children with invaluable experiences and lessons, which teach them about life there. We will share some of the day with you on our social media and on the newsletter.
We are also excited to share our culture and traditions and are delighted to have Castelao Primary as an extension of our Bunbury family.
