Year 3 Week Beginning 28/9/15

Date: 27th Sep 2015 @ 10:46pm

Good evening Year 3. I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

You all worked so hard last week. We performed our class poem in the forest (video to come soon), used our senses to describe a setting and became mastery mathematicians of place value. I was very impressed with you all!

This week in maths we will be looking at multiplication and division facts for the 2, 4, and 3 times-tables and methods for doubling and halving numbers.

It is important that you continue to learn you x4 table at home. Your homework this week is to 'speed write' you x4 table. Set a timer for 2 minutes, write out your x4 table (1x4=4 etc), how many times can your write it correctly in a minute? To earn team points for your team comment in the box below - how fast were you?

In English we will be continuing with our shared writing to describe the setting of 'Into the Forest'. We will be looking at using Oscar Worthy Sentence Openers (fronted adverbials) in our writing. These come at the start of a sentence and tell the reader where, when or how!

We will also be using maps and atlas to locate forests in the UK. We will be using playdough to create our own maps. I hope you enjoy these lessons!

Don't forget it is school photo's on Wednesday. Please come to school looking smarter than usual!!

See you all in the morning.
