Year 3 Week Beginning 25/4/16

Date: 23rd Apr 2016 @ 7:42pm

Good evening Year 3!

I am so pleased this gorgeous weather has continued into the weekend. What have you all been up to? You worked so hard last week and your big writes are fantastic!! I will give you some time on Tuesday to complete your green for growth work.

In English we will be starting our new topic.Whales are endangered in Bottlenose Bay because of the Jaggedy Daggers! We will start by using a book called 'Big Blue Whale' to write a poem. The poem will focus on using powerful verbs and adverbs. In spelling we will be looking at the possessive apstrophe and you will get some homework on this too.

In Maths we will be looking at turns. How many degrees in a full turn? How many in half a turn, three quarters of a turn? If the weather stays glorious, we will be able to take our learning outside!

This terms topic is one of my favourites because we get to do lots of art projects! This week you will start one of these projects with Mrs Walker. If you have any books on the seaside, rocks or whales please bring them into school to share with the class. Also please keep bringing in butter tubs and yoghurt pots. A big thank you to those of you who already have.

X-country is on Thursday at the High School, 4-5pm. EVERYONE is welcome, it would be lovely to have the whole class competing in this great event. It could be added to the 'Road to Rio' challenge! Can we keep our reigning title of the highest percentage?! I hope so!

See you on Monday.

Miss Cork :)
