Y6 week beginning 21 9 15

Date: 20th Sep 2015 @ 11:32am

Hello everyone

We hope you are having a good weekend and enjoying the sunshine. We actually ate our lunch in the garden and had a BBQ in the evening with friends! Keep on going summer, we love you!

Well, you all continued to work hard last week and are definitely earning your place as an excellent Y6 who will prove to be very good role models to the younger members of our school community. Miss Cork specifically mentioned how calm and mature you all seemed and that you were already a great Y6!

Last week we completed our first Big Write of the year based on newspaper reports and I was really impressed with your focus and approach to this task. Also in Maths we will be really challenging you to apply your skills and develop the ability to give reasons for your answers and findings. Keep practising your times tables as these are so improtant for your Maths fluency.

You also made a good start on our Stone Age topic looking at the pre-historic timeline. This will hopefully have been a good introduction to our visit to Burwardsley on Tuesday morning. We will use our trip as the basis for a further newspaper report in the following weeks. Don't forget to come in suitable clothes for the weather and to bring a snack and a drink with you. We will be back in school to have lunch at the usual time.

Don't forget that on Friday we have a Macmillan coffee morning at school and you, Year 6, have been challenged by Mrs James, to do the baking and provide the cakes for this very worthwhile charity event. So get baking!

Remember that you need your PE kits for Monday and Wednesday, and that includes a change of polo shirt and trainers please.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Love

Mrs C and Mrs H
