Y6 Tarporley Transition: Day 1

Today Year 6 spent their first day at Tarporley High School as part of their transition process in Year 6. The day was focussed on the STEM subjects of computer and information technology and maths.
After arriving, we were put in a group with another school (Oak View) and started off with a maths lesson - trying to solve a pirate challenge which put many mathematical skills into action. Everyone was very enthusiastic and Douglas and Oliver's team managed to win! Well done!
Next, we had a computer and information technology workshop where we used robots and coding apps on the tablets. We also used our brilliant imaginations to create different inventions - Miquel's idea to help to reduce pollution and Ben and Dan's idea to be able to print out your own items using 3D printing were my particular favourites!
It was a great hands-on day which gave everyone an insight into life at high school - thank you, Tarporley!
I wonder what the next transition day has in store...
