Y4 week beginning 8.5.17

Hello everybody

it was lovely to see so many of you at Kelsall school yesterday playing in the football competition. Hopefully your attendance helped raise a lot of money towards Cancer research. It was just a shame the weather was not as good as Friday or today.

This week is a full week in school and you will be completing your non chronological reports ready for our arts exhibition which will be held on the afternoon (2-3) and evening (6-7) of the 25th May. This will give the chance for all your parents and grandparents to wander around the school looking at all your wonderful work both in the corridors and classrooms. In the afternoons there will be chance to work together on a large sculpture of a mermaids tail as well as some art work to go with poetry that you have written. Miss Moores will continue with Geography based on Scotland and will be looking at art links with this. OS maps, contour lines etc will all be used to produce some lovely work.

In maths we will begin work on coordinates in the first quadrant. How do we draw and label a grid correctly? How do we write coordinates? Which coordinate must be written first? These questions will all be answered this week.

On Thursday afternoon some of you will be representing Y4 in the Hockey competition at Deeside Hockey club from 1-3pm. Any parents who have kindly volunteered to drive could you please be at school at 12.40. The children will go into lunch first so that they will be ready. Please ensure they have shin pads and if you have a mouth guard that is advisable but not necessary.

In a couple of weeks (19.5.17) is the turn of Y4 to lead worship starting at 10am. All parents are welcome. You will be writing this assembly and we will start to put our thoughts together over the next week.

Please don't forget your Takeaway homework or getting sponsorship for the PTA Fun Run on Sunday 21st May.
