Y4 week beginning 23.5.16

Date: 22nd May 2016 @ 10:18am

Hello everyone

First of all huge congratulations on your class assembly last Friday. We are sure your parents were very impressed, we certainly were. Your singing, acting and speaking were great. Trust is a very important value and We felt you got this message across to your audience. Well done.

In spellings this week we will be looking at the possessive apostrophe with plurals. How would you draw The dog's kennel and The dogs' kennel. What is the difference between these 2 sentences and how is it shown in the writing. We will be completing the book One Boy's War and will write a poem in a Big Write on life in the trenches. We would like you to read these to your parents next half term when we will invite them in. We will also provide them with some WW1 food that you will have prepared.

We need to do another maths assessment this week which will tell us how much progress you have made and also inform our maths planning for next half term. This is nothing to worry about you have all done 4 before so you are aware of the procedure. We will also finish our work on decimals and fractions.

Dont forget your takeaway homework for Wednesday when we will have time to share what has been done and take photos.

It is Mrs. Parsons last week and I know she will miss you all terribly, we will spend part of Tuesday afternoon making her card which will be given to her in Friday's assembly.

I hope you have tried Mr. Cole's maths challenge which is on the Y4 page. So far Alex is the only child to have commented on it. Well done lots of tea points for you.

Enjoy the sunshine and see you all tomorrow.

Mrs. Waddington, Mrs. Parsons and Mr. Cole.

The music you need for the brass concert with the Halle at the Bridgewater Hall is on the class page. Please use this when you are practising.
