Y4 week beginning 19.9.16

Last week we had our first fantastic french lesson where we learned how to say and do some classroom commands. We played Simon Says and 7 children could not be beaten! We looked at pattern and sequences in numbers and then spent some time on problem solving. This is going to be easy could be heard but they were not as easy as they looked and children enjoyed the challenge with some even opting to stay in at lunchtime to complete them.

Place Value will continue this week where we will be looking at what each digit represents in a number and looking at what happens when we go below zero. you are all enjoying the text Leon and the Place between and cannot wait to turn to the next page. we will be concentrating on settings and how to make this more interesting to the reader by using fronted adverbials, extended noun phrases, great use of adjectives and powerful verbs. This is all leading to a Big Write on Thursday.

Our Trust art work is nearly complete and ready to go on display in the hall and classroom and we should get chance to add a few more layers to our Mayan masks. Topic work will begin on Wednesday afternoon where you will find out who the Mayans were and where they lived in the world.

Those children whose names were drawn from the hat will be playing in the Tag Rugby team on Monday evening at Tarporley High School from 4-5.30. Please remember your bottle of water, healthy snack and boots or trainers, we will provide you with kit.

On Thursday (22nd September) will be the family, sibling and individual photographs.There will be more information to follow but please ensure you look smart.

Don't forget your brass instruments on Friday and your homework on Tuesday.
