Y4 week beginning 16.5.16

We can't believe we have had 2 weekends on the trot with beautiful weather, that is unheard of in this country and we really hope you have enjoyed lots of time outside without getting sunburnt.

This is a very important week for us as it is our class assembly on Friday at 10am which all your parents are warmly invited to. You spent some time on Thursday and Friday writing it, using the Christian value of trust as the stimulus. You will have some time this week to practice. It is also a whole school communion on Wednesday at 10am where your parents can also attend. If they would like to can they sent a RSVP to the office or Mrs. Crotty so we can ensure their are enough cups and saucers for coffee afterwards.

We will be continuing with decimals this week, I know some of you struggled a little but we will recap and not move on until you feel secure. We looked at tents and hundredths, ordered them, looked at how many more tents or hundredths were needed to get to the next whole number and also used this knowledge in working out problems dealing with cm and m, pounds and pence, km and m and l and ml.

Mr. Cole will be continuing with One Boys War and you will be using your extended noun phrases to write some poetry. Reading and marking your noun phrases sent shivers up our spine as they were so emotive, what will your poems do to us. When they are finished we will invite your parents in to listen to them which will give you chance to perform them to an audience.

Please make sure you complete your homework and bring it to us by Tuesday so that it can be marked before you get your next lot on Thursday.

Enjoy today and see you tomorrow, if you have got a painting shirt or old large t shirt please bring it in as we will be using acrylic paints!
