Y4 week beginning 15.5.17

Hello everyone

i am writing this weeks blog at Schipol airport (Amsterdam) having visited my sister who works here. We have a full and fun packed weekend visiting museums, art galleries and a boat trip. The weekend has flown by, what have you all been up to?

Yet another busy week this week, Big Write on non chronological report writing which will become part of the Sea of Dreams exhibition. In maths we will move from coordinates to translation of shapes which means moving them from one place on a grid to another and then plotting the new coordinates. If the weather is good we will draw large grids on the playground in chalk and have some fun. 

You began your Scottish crafts last week and you will be working on those in different colour inks and pastels. Miss Moores said they look great already. 

It is our class assembly on Friday at 10 am to which your parents are all invited. This is based on the Rights of the Child. I know you have all worked very hard with Mrs. Woodhouse to put this together. Well done.

On Sunday it is the PTA's fun run which is to be held on the Pavilion field at 12. I know it will be a great event and it will be lovely to see as many of you as possible as all money raised will be used for our very own running track.

Finally congratulations to all of the Y4 hockey players who represented the school at the tournament last Thursday at Deeside Hockey club. I believe you all played brilliantly but more importantly were great ambassadors for our school.
