Y4 week beginning 14.3.16

Date: 12th Mar 2016 @ 4:05pm

Hi everyone

i hope you are all having an enjoyable weekend and those that have been poorly are feeling better. It is a very busy week next week so be prepared!

On Monday you will be writing a diary account as a Big Write, if you would like to bring in your slippers please do, we will provide a quiet classroom and a biscuit. During the afternoon we will be Coding and looking at the addition and subtraction of decimals.

Tuesday is the day of our visit to Speke Hall. You need to bring a packed lunch preferably in a plastic bag that we can throw away and a drink in a plastic bottle. It can be very cold inside the house so please ensure you put on a vest or t shirt under your school uniform and wear a warm coat. We will also be walking around the gardens so if it's raining make sure your coat is waterproof. One of the activities in the afternoon is making an orange pomander using a small orange or tangerine which you also need to bring in a named bag so they don't get mixed up. I will remind you about all of this on Monday too!

After our first lesson we will be walking to church on Wednesday. We will have an early break and leave school at 10.20, Any parents who would like to accompany us on this visit will be warmly welcomed. The theme is the Lords Prayer, There will be many stations and activities that the children can visit which will help them to understand, reflect upon and explore each aspect of this very important prayer. We will return to school for lunch.

We are moving to the next part of the Water Horse where like many myths and legends he comes across foes. Do you know what a foe is? Look it up in the dictionary if you are not sure. You are going to write your own part of this story and think of a new foe that the Water Horse might meet.

Thursday and Friday are both science days where you will be investigating a problem. On Friday you will be explaining what you have found out and possible conclusions to another class and you will also have the chance to listen to what they have investigated.

Congratulations to the 3 winners of the Easter Bunbury Bake Off, all entrants did a very good job and it must have been very hard for the judges to decide.

See you on Monday.

Love Mrs.W, Mrs.P and Miss M x
