Y4 week beginning 12.10.15

Date: 11th Oct 2015 @ 12:10pm

Hi Y4

another beautiful weekend of bright autumnal weather. I hope you have enjoyed this by getting outside.

Tomorrow,

Monday 12 th October is our educational visit to Liverpool. We will be visiting the synagogue in the morning and the World Museum over lunch and the early part of the afternoon. Please bring with you a healthy packed lunch that is all disposable if possible. Please ensure their are no glass bottles. Most of the trip is conducted inside both places but we do need to walk from the coach into each venue so please bring a waterproof coat that can be packed inside your bags. We can put these bags into lockers as we go round the museum.

This week and next we will be looking at time problems, and addition and subtraction using both column addition and expanded column subtraction in subtraction. Mathletics homework will be set using these learning goals, once you have completed them you are free to choose the activities you would like to complete. Please don't forget your tables, the more you practice the more skilled you will become.

Our next Big Write will be on recount writing and we will use our trip to Liverpool as our stimulus. Think about the steps to success in writing a recount which we will go over on Tuesday to help you write the best recount you can.

I hope you have been thinking about your research homework on planning, designing, making and evaluating healthy packed lunches for different groups of children. This does not need to be brought into school until after half term but we expect to see something from all of you. This can be a PowerPoint, poster, instructions with illustrations, video of you making the packed lunch, models etc. The world is your oyster, go out and get researching and then produce the results in anyway you like. We can't wait to see the results.

Thank you very much to all the Y4 runners that turned up last Thursday at the High School. 60% of our class ran and we were only narrowly beaten by Y3 who had 65%. Let's hope at the next event we manage to get a few more entrants from our class.

See you tomorrow, ready for Liverpool!

Love Mrs W and Mrs S X
