Y3 Week Beginning 29/2/16

Date: 28th Feb 2016 @ 8:19pm

Hi all,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend - the weather has been lovely!

Your dragon information texts are AMAZING and I have really enjoyed marking them. Has anybody seen any more dragons over the weekend? You will be making your dragon books this week to present your work in.

In English we will be using Sir Charlie Stinky Socks to write compound sentences using co-ordinating conjunctions. I promise this is not as difficult as it sounds!

In Maths we will be using numicon to look at multiplication. By the end of the week we will be looking at more formal written methods for multiplication. Please continue to practice your timestables at home and multiplying by 10 and 100. I think you are all seeing how important it is to be confident with your timestables. They certianly come in handy!

Last week you researched medieval foods and dress in preperation for our feast. This week you will begin to cook and taste some of these foods. We will start by making puddings (my favourite!) and you will be making gingerbread. This will be a little different to the gingerbread you are used - i think you will be surprised by some of the ingredients.

Lots of you are going to Young Voices tomorrow (me included!) so Mrs Walker will be teaching you in the afternoon. You all know I love to sing (very badly!!) and I am looking forward to an exciting day. Those of you who aren't going will do some KiVa work.

Thursday is World Book Day and you have been asked to come to school dressed all in one colour! We will spend the day doing some art work around the story 'The Day the Crayons Quit' by Oliver Jeffers. We will be teaming up with Mrs Crotty and Mrs Moxely.

See you tomorrow

Miss Cork X

P.S Our trip to Beeston has been confirmed and I will let you know when we are going this week!
