Y5 week beginning the 17th October

This week we have finished our letters started our science experiments- some of us designed our own experiments to prove that I am not a magician and cannot make a solid disappear. On Monday afternoon, we will finish our experiments and start to look at irreversible and reversible change. In maths, we investigated Roman numerals and most of us came to the conclusion that we prefer our modern number system.

Today we visited Chester Cathedral for the Pilgrim day visit, it was a day filled with dizzy heights as some of us visited the Cathedral tower and watched the birds of prey aerial display whilst others created sugar craft monks, learnt calligraphy or made keepsake books.  We all enjoyed a tour of the Cathedral and learnt about the life of St. Werburgh, in addition to adding a Lego brick to the Lego replica of the cathedral. It was a fabulous day and, with the help of Miss Cork, we have tweeted Some of the pictures.

Next week, we will finish our experiments, start to look at sculptures.  In English, we will begin to think about how authors write for different audiences and in maths we will start subtraction.

Remember you have only one more week before we share our takeaway homework and PE has now changed from Monday to Tuesday afternoons.
