Y3 Week Beginning 7.3.16

Date: 6th Mar 2016 @ 3:31pm

Hello everyone,

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend!

We had a lovely day on World Book Day. You rotated round Year 1, Reception and Year 3 and produced a great poem and some super art work. Mrs Crotty was very impressed with your team work and it was lovely to hear her kind words.

This week in English we are going to be looking at writing instructions. We will be recapping imperative verbs and beginning to think about including adverbs in our instructions. We will start following instructions to make origami animals. Next week you will be writing a big write on a chosen medieval reciepe.

In maths we will continue to look at multiplication through arrays and will use numicon to help us. Later on in the week we will look at more formal written methods. Please keep practising on mathletics!

We will also be continuing with your dragon information books - they are looking beautiful!

Please don't forget to be thinking about Takeaway homework for this half term. The sheet is on the class page on Y3 and I have also given you all a paper copy. We will have our celebration day on March 30th so get thinking and doing!

The last thing we need to be thinking about is to make a Lenten Box which can be as simple or complicated as you like as long as you can collect money inside through Lent. This will then be taken to church for our Easter Service on Thursday 24th March and all the money collected will be given to a charity.

Apologies for forgetting to give out your Mothers Day cards on Friday - I will give those out tomorrow.

See you in the morning

Miss Cork :)
