Reception week beginning 7 9 2015

The children have started so well. They have only been in school two half days and they are already beginning to know the routines. They have to know where things go in the classroom so that it is a really good learing area. We play games "Go and find the........" and so on. We were lucky that they have been able to go outside it makes such a difference.
From the beginning of term the children's topic will be "I am Special" We will be then looking at Harvest and Autumn, but within this we will be following the children's interests. Please could you send in any photos of your child as a baby and some family photos? We would like to stick them in their learning journeys.
If the children find any conkers I would love to have them in school as they are great for counting, weighing etc.
Diaries
Every weekend I send home a diary that that parents can fill in with their child telling me about their weekend or anything that they have done in the week. It can also tell me about any learning that you have noticed at home. Some people print off photos, some people just write something. I then use the diaries for speaking and listening activities. On the website I try to tell parents what is going on every week in the classroom.
