Reception week beginning 19 9 16

What an exciting week. We all start in full time tomorrow. I am looking forward to putting everyone together. I really feel I know the children now, it is really helpful having them in small groups. We will start meeting everyone on the yard at 9.40am. Mrs Lawford and I will both be there. Tomorrow the children will meet their buddies and at lunchtime we will go into the hall first. All the children are used to being on the yard in the morning so it will not be very different for them at lunchtime. I am about all the time so they will be fine.

Tomorrow we will be showing the children what we expect with routines etc. We have been doing phonics everyday since the start of term. The whole of the infants have phonics at the same time, so that we can group them effectively. 

Our focus book this week is " A Bear called Griz" we will also be thinking about harvest and going to the vegetable plot to collect runnerbeans. We are then going to talk about size. At some point in the week we will do some printing with vegetables. In number this week there will be lots of capacity and length.

Tomorrow the day starts with number followed by phonics after play. Every day has a phonic activity, number and literacy activities together with all the other activities in class.
