Reception News weekbeginning 22 1 18

We have had a lovely week. The children have been really engaged in everything that they have done.The book Lost and Found is such a great text and there is such a lovely DVD to go with it. This week we are thinking about what we would need to go to the South Pole and noticing what the explorers use. I am bringing in a sledge out of the shed for them to load up. We will be designing boats at the end of the week after making them with Duplo  and building blocks.

In number we are thinking about using a ten frame and the patterns that numbers make. With this in mind we are playing some card games. All the activities are differentiated to the level that the children are at. Of course there will be lots of reading, writing and phonics. An exciting time in Reception.
