Reception news week beginning 6 3 17

Date: 5th Mar 2017 @ 1:32pm

We have had a lovely week. The Sea of Dreams has engaged the children and we are now thinking about pirates as well. We found a chest covered with dust and inside was a large pirate flag, a map and some gold treasure. We have been wondering who could have left it! There have been a lot of pirates dressed up in class. The children really enjoyed World Book Day and there was a great atmosphere in school.

This week we will be carrying on with the Sea of Dreams, we haven't actually read the book yet! The pictures are so lovely we have been wondering what will happen in the story. The children looked at the front cover, we then asked them to write about the picture. "I see, I think, I wonder." They did really well. This week we are thinking about sandcastles and their texture, describing them and feeling them.

In number we are thinking about money and counting forwards and backwards on a numberline. We have been counting with 2ps and 1ps, some of us will go onto counting in 5s and 10s and others will keep practising with 2ps and 1ps.

Here's to another busy week. The children are doing so well.
