Reception news week beginning 6 3 16

We had a great week. The children did brilliantly on World Book Day. We mixed Year 3 , Year 1 and Reception together and then rotated around the three classrooms . In each classroom there was an art activity. The children concentrated so well I was amazed. Their behaviour was excellent.

This week we are going to use the book "Puff the Magic Dragon". The children have beeen playing with the dragons and really enjoyed the story when William Roots brought in the book. At the end of the week we will be doing a "Big Write" to retell the story. We will still be working with money using the Numicon to help work out the amounts and counting in twos, fives and tens.

At the Easter service children bring a decorated box with some money in that we donate to charity. This has been a tradition of the school for many years.
