Reception news Week beginning 20 11 16

It was lovely to meet everyone at parents' evening. Reception did so well recording the CD on Friday. It was a long morning and they coped really well. Due to the recording of the CD we were unable to do our BIg Write so we are going to do it first thing on Monday morning. Whilst writing they listen to music and eat biscuits! They seem to really enjoy it.

We are still focussing on our shoe shop. The children are really enjoying space and are very interested. Aliens might be visiting this week!

In number the children are going to make aliens with lots of legs. The number of legs will be determined by throwing two dice and adding the dots together. We will also be thinking about shapes, making rockets and space stations.

We have been focussing on the number 8 linked to the 8 planets and have started making number bonds of 8.

As usual we will be doing lots of reading and phonics and we will have a great week. The children really enjoy their learning.

We start our nativity this week. There wil be lots of singing.
