Reception News week beginning 16 1 17

We had a great first week back the children worked really hard and were very pleased with their new roleplay area. Last week we focussed on Rights Respecting Schools and the difference between a need and a want. I think by the end of the week they were beginning to understand the differerence! We started on children's basic needs and then thought about the right to play. We looked at photographs together and the children wrote about what they saw in the pictures. They presented their findings to the whole school and then did some art work with Mrs Badger. This week we are going to focus on the book Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. (Please don't read this book to your child as I am doing lots of other activities before we read the book). In number we will be thinking about ordering counting and recognising numbers. Another busy week.
