Reception News week beginning 13 3 17

I am so pleased with Reception they are working so hard and challenging themselves all the time. They are always busy and very interested in whatever we do. It is a brilliant age to teach. Mrs Lawford says that she loves the way they come in everyday and look to see what is different. This week we are continuing with the book Sea of Dreams, but we are also thinking about a "Sea of Rubbish." I want to do a little environmental work with them! Please don't talk to them about it if you read this. We are going to be creating pictures, acting, making music, the list goes on and on.

In number we are counting forwards and backwards on a number line and adding and taking away using pirate treasure.  We might even play a game where we walk the plank!

The children's reading is progressing well. I think Read Write Inc has made a difference.
