Reception blog week beginning 30 11 15

We are in Advent where does the time go? The children have been so good. They are really settling down in class and we are managing to get lots done. We are now practising our songs for the nativity. The tunes are really catchy. 

Last week we managed to make space stations with the cardboard boxes . The children worked in groups and really enjoyed it. There was lots of glue and string.

We also had an activity where we threw dice to collect 3 D shapes. The children worked in pairs. It was interesting as at first all they wanted to do was make their own rocket. It was really good for them to work together. They had to count how many shapes they had and some of the children recorded it. 

This week we are making something to buy at the Christmas fair, number aliens and writing about our weekend. Of course phonics and reading feature heavily. Some of the children are really into weddings, so they will be making some invitations. This is only a snapshot of all the things that we will be doing!!
