Reception blog week beginning 20 6 16

The children had such a good week and were ready for work. They are really enjoying our new topic and think the Rainforest Cafe is great. Katie and I created it on Monday night. I think some of the children were a bit disappointed that things hadn't changed on Monday morning, but I wanted to talk to them about it. They were very pleased on Tuesday morning.

We have some baby caterpillars that are growing at a rate. They are causing great excitement. This week we will be going on a minibeast hunt the rain will really have helped there should be loads. We are continuing symmetry with number and shapes linked to minibeasts. I have so many ideas it will be impossible to do everything. Writing will link in with whatever we are doing. We are focussing on writing lists this week. Reading and phonics are everyday.

Hopefully sports day will be either Monday or Tuesday morning depending on the weather.
