Reception news week beginning 5 6 17

Dear Parents

I hope that you have all had a lovely half term. We have had some lovely weather and thankfully a little rain. This half term always goes very quickly. We start with sports' day. Reception always enjoy it and are very competitive! Don't forget that they need hats and water bottles.

This half term we are going to be looking at castles because the children have been showing an interest. We will also be outside looking for minibeasts and planting in our vegetable garden. I am hoping our runner beans will have grown huge over the holiday.

We are going to be thinking about a giant's castle at the start of our topic. I wonder who lives there?

On Monday morning we will be writing our news from the holiday. The children are so keen to tell us what they've done.

During the week we will be looking at  2D and 3D shapes and making sure that we know the concept of more and less than a certain number!
