Year 6

Hello Year 6,

I am missing you all lots but I have loved reading/seeing your work online so far and I can't wait to see more of your home learning over the summer term!

Our summer topic is 'WHAT A WASTE'! It is a whole school topic based on plastic pollution, recycling and protecting our planet. I have attached our summer term takeaway homework sheet to the bottom of this page for you to have a go at!

Continue sending me messages, photos and work of your home learning via purplemash, facebook and padlet and keep up all of your hard work!

And most importantly, keep smiling smiley

Stay safe,

Miss Hickson

Maths

White Rose Maths has created daily lessons which you can complete at home. From the week beginning 11.5.20, these resources (worksheets, answers and video links) will be uploaded to the tab at the bottom of this webpage.

P.S. ENJOY!
White Rose Maths is all about helping learners to love maths by understanding what it’s all about!

Mathletics

There are tasks to be completed on a range of topics and these are set weekly.

TT rock stars

Please continue practising your times tables on here as much as possible. It is so important to know your timestables so practising for 10-15 minutes every day would be brilliant!

If you want to complete our weekly 5 minutes timestables tests, I have added them as documents at the bottom of this page.

English

The Literacy Company have created a wonderful selection of spelling and writing materials to support home learning. I have attached the spelling and writing documents below.

There is also a great reading comprehension pack to work through and writing tasks based on different videos which I will continue to upload.

I have also created a writing tasks document linked to our topic of What A Waste.

I would love to read all of your brilliant writing!

Daily reading

Children should be reading daily and continuing to write in their reading records.

https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/ is a brilliant resource which we have access to. You will have received your login details via the office.

Purple Mash

There are ‘2 do’ tasks set on here which should be completed and saved. I am setting a variety of tasks for you to work through each week.

Enjoy your home learning and have fun!

PE

Let's keep our fitness up whilst we have time at home!

PE passport, a tool the school uses to plan our PE curriculum has created online content to provide fun and engaging challenges to be attempted at home and as families. They have added Dance, Yoga, Hand/Eye Coordination skills and personal challenges. The content of this will be updated daily over the coming weeks and I hope the resources available will help you stay active during the closure. The website also provides external links to other websites that might prove useful to parents and carers whilst at home. Please click on the link below to access this content.
