Year 3

Home learning Summer Term

As you will be aware, school re-opens to a small number children from 1st June 2020. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to accept all children back just yet. As a result, we have altered our approach to home learning to bring it more in line with what the children who attend school will be covering in a day. We hope that this will ensure that those who remain at home are not missing out on the structure and learning packed into a school day. At the bottom of this webpage you will now find a weekly plan.

I understand that the last 7 weeks have been very challenging. Home schooling brings with it is a unique challenge for each family. Please do not worry - whatever you have done will be what is right for you and your children. The priority is happy, healthy children who still have a love of learning, and this is still at the heart of the new weekly plan. If you have any worries or questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Hello Year 3!

I am missing seeing you all and catching up with your news face to face, but I have loved seeing lots of what you are getting up to at home on Padlet, Facebook, Zoom and email.

Our whole school theme for the summer term is 'What a Waste'. Our learning will be linked to the problem of plastic polution. I have added the summer term takeaway homework to the bottom of the page, but as always feel free to add your own amazing ideas and creations.

At the bottom of this page, you will find the tab for the Year 3 weekly home learning page with the week's plan of work to complete along with any worksheets you might need.  Don't forget that you can still use Purple Mash, Mathletics, TT Rock Stars and Oxford Owl in addition to this if you would like to. I have put the links below.

I will be teaching other children in school, but I am always here if you need me or have any questions. I know that the home learning is very different, but keep going! Your doing an amazing job, so are your parents (make sure you tell them they are fabulous too!)

Stay safe and keep in touch,

Mrs Smith

PE

Lets keep our fitness up whilst we have time at home. Click on the link, watch the interactive home work out videos and give it a go. No equipment needed, so no excuses! Lets have have fun and keep fit! Test yourself if you can and try to combine more than one exercise video. Try as many as you want throughout the day or even create your own?

Additionally, PE passport, a tool the school uses to plan our PE curriculum, has created online content to provide fun and engaging challenges to be attempted at home and as families. They have added Dance, Yoga, Hand/Eye Coordination skills and personal challenges. The content of this will be updated daily over the coming weeks and I hope the resources available will help you stay active during the closure. The website also provides external links to other websites that might prove useful to parents and carers whilst at home. Please click on the link below to access this content.
