Year 4 week beginning 21.3.16

Date: 20th Mar 2016 @ 5:16pm

Hello everyone

We hope you have had a wonderful weekend especially as the weather has been so Springlike today. This week is only 4 days long as it is Good Friday at the end of the week and we are off for the Easter weekend. We are going to have to fit 5 days work into 4 but I know you will manage this. We are nearing the end of The Water Horse and will soon be writing our own myth using all the structures, rich vocabulary and grammar that we have learned so far. This week we will be concentrating on direct speech, prepositions and organising paragraphing around a theme.

Miss Mullins will be teaching maths this week looking at measurement. There will be lots of opportunity for practical work both inside and outside of the classroom.

We have Parents Evening on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and this is a lovely opportunity for you to show off your work and the improvements and progress you have made since starting Y4. All of you should be proud of your achievements, can you please ensure your parents have signed up to a new time slot. The format has slightly changed but we feel this will make the evenings run to time and be much slicker.

On Thursday will be our Easter Service in St. Boniface Church at 10am. Please bring in your filled Lenten Boxes, all monies will be donated to Sports Relief which funds projects both in this country and abroad. Spend some time learning the words to our Forgiveness Song which will be part of The Lords Prayer inspired service. Any parents who are able to accompany us on the walk to and from Church please contact Mrs. Crotty or myself. Thank you

You have just over a week to complete your current Takeaway homework projects before we share them on Wednesday 30th March. We expect to see work from everybody!

It is the turn of Y4 to bring in cakes for the Cake Sale on Thursday. Please bring in your contributions in to school on Thursday morning, all will be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on your science work from last week, I know Mrs. Parsons was very impressed with you all not only for your experimenting but also your explanations that you shared with Y3.

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

Love Mrs. W, Mrs. P and Miss Mullins x
