year 1 outdoor adventures at Bickley hall farm

Year 1 have been having a woodland day today! This morning we visited Bickley hall farm, home of the wildlife trust for cheshire. It was a fantastic morning! The children created beautiful woodland collages and created their own magical woodland wands (to help us get to the enchanted wood! ) They toasted marshmallows over a campfire and hunted for minibeasts using gigantic nets. Finally they made a woodland crown and fed the sheep! Despite the English weather we all had a brilliant morning!

After lunch we went to explore the school woodland and made our own Boggarts (mythical tree faces). The children explored the texture of the clay before sticking it to the side of a tree and making a face using natural materials. Some of the children even made animals.
