Hello everyone

I do hope you have had a good weekend and no-one has been blown away in the very windy weather!

This week we have looked at finding percentages of numbers. We have calculated what fraction the percentage is equivalent to and then found that fraction of the amount.

Eg 50 % = 50/100 = 1/2

Therefore to find 50% of £36, divide £36 by 2

30% = 30/100 = 3/10

Therefore to find 30% of £650, divide £650 by 10 (to find 1/10 or 10%) and then multiply the answer by 3 (to find 3/10 or 30%).

Hope that's clear! We have also looked at and revised the properties of 2D and 3D shapes. The activities on Mathletics relate to our division work and must be completed by Monday. 

On Wednesday, it is our annual whole school event to the New Vic Theatre in Stoke. This is always a magical experience where we sit " in the round" with a buddy and the staff watching a performance. This year it is Robin Hood and Maid Marion. The actors are a bunch of very talented people and we watch drama, dance, the playing of instruments and singing. Please remember you are representing Bunbury School and your behaviour needs to be as exemplary as always.

On Friday we will be working on our drama and choral speaking for the Christmas Carol Service so this will be challenging but fun. I really hope a few people will step out of their Comfort zone and into the Courage zone and attempt something a little more challenging.

We will be doing some assessments earlier in the week so that we have a better idea of where the gaps are and how we can continue to move you forward on your learning journey.

Don't forget also that we are very much looking forward to seeing your Takeaway homework projects on Wednesday morning. This will be a lovely time for you all to share your interests and all your hard work.
