Y4week beginning 18.1.16

Hi everyone

Firstly a huge congratulations must go to the Y4 netball team who became the cluster champions on Thursday evening at Tarporley High School. They each won a gold medal, certificate and a trophy that we are allowed to keep for a year.

You have all worked very hard this week and the Winter's Child display is looking great, we have had many compliments on it. We just need to write out  our poetry to add to it and it will be complete. This next week we will be recapping on how to write in paragraphs using a plan to help. The use of fronted adverbials is very important for this. Following paragraphs, we will concentrate on how to write dialogue (speech) using the correct punctuation. You will work in threes and each take on the part of Tom, Nana or mum to role play a scene from the book. Using this as a stimulus you will write your own dialogue. The week will end with a Big Write using all the skills you have learned over the last 2 weeks.

We will complete division at the beginning of the week before we begin work on angles, perpendicular and parallel lines and using a protractor to draw acute, obtuse and right angles.

During our afternoons we will be sewing our Tudor pouches, drawing a Tudor portraits now that we know how to use proportions when drawing a face and looking at where and why Tudors lived in the  town or country. Which area do you think was slightly healthier to live and why?

Mrs. Parsons will continue with the work you have started on electricity and in RE "sacrifice" and how this was shown through the arts.

Have a great weekend, I really hope we have some snow that will stick. If we do and you go outside think of some verbs that you might use if you sledge, skid or ski.

Please don't forget to do some of your Takeaway homework, you should have done one piece already and be thinking about the second.
