Y4 week beginning 29.2.16

Date: 29th Feb 2016 @ 6:23pm

Hello everyone

i hope you have all had a lovely weekend. First of all, can I congratulate the Y4 indoor athletics team on their silver medal win last Thursday at Tarporley. I will blog the photographs tomorrow when I am in school. This week you will all have some hockey training from an expert Anna Roti in preparation for a hockey tournament later on this term. Make sure your kit is in school including warm layers as you will be outside unless it's pouring with rain!

We are looking at multiplying and dividing whole numbers and decimal numbers by 10 and 100 and looking at what happens to each digit when we do this. This is especially important when we are talking about money and measures eg 1.16 m x10 or £45.60 divided by 100.

The book The Water Horse continues to be our stimulus for our English work and this week on World Book Day we will be looking at the text The Day the Crayons quit by Oliver Jeffers. This has a very important message regarding friendships, and celebrating differences. You are all encouraged to come to school dressed in just one colour. Which colour will you choose? (remember we will have to get changed into our PE kit for one lesson)

i will be working on Friday this week and the morning will be taken up by some art work relating to the text The day the Crayons quit. What techniques do you think we might be using?

i will see you all tomorrow.

Love Mrs. W and Mrs. P
